Hi everyone at the Fredcat residence. I am so sorry to hear of his
passing, I confess to not visiting the site as often as I should have, but
I did put a link to it on my own site at
http://www.g6urp.co.uk/other_links.htm#Cats :-)
I know so well what it's like to lose someone you love dearly, I am a
volunteer at a local rescue shelter/adoption centre and I get very
attached to some of the longer-stay residents, especially the older ones.
Here are a couple of links to two of my all time favourites, Sheba and
Catherine:

Hi there
How lovely to read about the arrival of Frankie. I am sure that Fredcat
would approve that his humans are being kept on their toes and not allowed
to get slack!
We have moved Fredcat from the Gorgeous Gingers page to the Rainbow Gingers
page, where you will find him at http://rainbowgingers.blogspot.com. Hope
you like the page.
Best wishes Kate and Fat Eric, Jul 31 2007

Dear Cathie and Mr.B,
I have just discovered Fredcat's website and was moved to tears by his story. Please accept my sincerest condolences for the loss of your beloved Freddy. I know how hard this must be for you. I am still grieving the loss of my own ginger boy, Rascal, who died this last April. He was my dear companion for 16 years and I miss him terribly. He will always live on in my memory as, I am sure, Freddy will in yours. My thoughts are with you.
Pam from New Jersey, Jul 31 2007

Dear Cathie and MR. B,
I just wanted you to know that I put a post up on my page in honor of Fredcat, I would like to put up a picture of him as well, if I may have your permission. My human (Annie) and I are very sad about Fred, but we think that Frankie would be happy to share his secrets about Fredcat and perhaps help to filll a hole that is in your hearts. We will continue to share your stories of Fredcat on my blog, and if Frankie comes to live with you we will share his stories also!

Cathie,
Thank you so much for the email. Mom has gone to the website several times but hadn’t visited it yet today. We know from experience how the loss of your best friend can take what seems like an eternity to get over. Mom still thinks of Tiger, my brother and he has been gone many years. I am so happy you have met Frankie the Fearless. We kitties do communicate with each other. I hope if you bring him home he can help fill your emptiness. No one will replace Fredcat. We are thinking of you….

Dearest Freddikins
I am so sorry to hear that you are not your usual self. It is a blow indeed.
Hearing of your ailments cannot but help to put me in mind of the happy times we have shared. I am proud to say I am one of your adoring many but one of the few to have actually been in your august presence. It has been an honour to be allowed into your desmain and allowed to feed you a choice tit bit from time to time.
I always felt protected by you, knowing you were on 24 hour alert, patrolling territory with your faithful acolytes, squirrels and raccons posted on the perimeters.
Your friend in deeds and maybe the odd 'crime' or two, Snotty, sends a tail whisk and a purr.
With best loves and chuckachins,
I remain,

Dear Fredcat, Catster made an honest mistake in loosing my payment, but, I had the proof of the cashed check at the bank. They fixed all my pages and gave us 145 free zealies!! A mistake well worth it!! Mr. Vegemite is feeling so grand and healthy now that he is not spending a lot of time here. As soon as he finds out that he has been fixed and feels different, he'll stay around our yard way more and then when it gets colder mom will bring him in. Our other sister Lady Jane, she don't like being all around us cats so mom bought her a cathouse that she puts a heating pad in it in the winter for her, otherwise, she does try to get her to come inside still. When she refuses, mom don't feel so bad seeing her cuddle inside that house ontop the heating pad. Lady Jane has tons of Persian fur too so that helps. Momma just got done her typing transcribing for the university. She had 16 interviews and had over 40 hours work! She takes her timesheet into today but is picking up more transcribing to do. Mom loves to be able to type at home and work on her own computer and not have to commute and deal with "silly office politics"!! Besides that, we get a stay at home momma and in between breaks, she plays on Catster. Momma also collects some pretty special dolls by Dollmaker and Masterpiece. Her granddaughters love that! The only thing is these are not play dolls, they are very expensive heirlooms that momma wants to be able to pass down as a special beautiful inheritance, that is, if the Lord tarries.

Fredcat ma dear boy,
Just because The USA is now your ADOPTED country of origin doesn't mean that you should celebrate its independance from Queen Lizzie the second (for who half those american people would give thier eye teeth to have her back) And lets face it at least a fifth of the british population would give them to America for free, a damn sight cheaper than America got London Bridge (not tower bridge as that is a vital part of the British make-up). I would fight for the right of Mr Fredcat naturalised American to celebrate whatever he wants and that includes Independance day, Because he is Fredcatspectaclar and wonderfurous (to take the words out of Bush's mouth) So Happy Independance Day with many fireworks shooting up in the sky, this is best viewed from indoors if at all.
From DeFish of the two views (was it I who cut down the cherry tree? Nay twas that Washington chappie who is jeordie in origin isn't he?) JimmyDeFish, Stockport, England, Jul 5 2007

Happy Happy Independence tDay to Fredcat the Famous, his best friend, Cathie, and Mr. B., the Grumpy One from Patsy and Callie Cat!

Dear Fredcat, Mom is so upset this morning as she sent a check in a month ago to renew her Catster plus and today all the pages are gone, the fancy stuff, because they said the subcription ran out!! So, she called and left a message early and her phone number and told them the check number. Mom hopes that they can just put all her pages back because it will be way too much work to redo all of them!! We adopted a stray black kitty momma named Mr. Vegemite. She finally was able to win his trust when she put him in the carrier and took him to the vets and got him fixed. He also had infected absesses on his face that were terrible and the vet had to cut open and drain them. She gave him an antibiotic shot and also cleaned out his ear mites. The FIV test came back a light blue positive but momma is going to take care of him. She has all kinds of information about FIV and that they can only pass it if he don't wear a condom! hee-hee! He is fixed now and he is not going to bite any of us anyhow. He is very sweet and friendly. He wants to stay outside all the time and mom has been trying to get him used to staying inside. Mom is able to get him to take his antibiotics by putting it in his milk and he has been a good boy at taking it. He had the surgery on Tuesday and he looks so much better and happier because we can tell that he feels so much better with the torment of the face pain and the ear mites being gone. Lots of cats live long happy lives with FIV and mom knows people who have them living with negative tested out cat family members. They can only get it through biting deeply, another cat. Besides that, the vet said the kind that he got is not the strong controlling kind, whatever that means. Mom just feels bad for the poor kitty and wants him to at least be loved and wanted and cared for. You can check out his page if you want. Mom had the page fixed so neat and now all the catster plus stuff is gone!! mom hopes that they will replace and put it all back! She don't want to have to do it over. Mom has been transcribing for Washington university and she works at home on her computer and emails it in. She has 16 interviews to type and each one is about 3 or 4 hours long! So, she is busy working and don't want to have to put back the pages. So, poor Mr. Vegemite didn't have a skin allergy on his face, it was absesses. For everything done for him, getting fixed, having the absesses drained, antibiotic shots and medicine to bring home, ear mite removal, FIV test, mom was only charged $138 by our vet! Our vet understands mom has lots of rescued babies she takes care of and gives her a break. love, Baby and Sweetpea and Sasha and Melah and Lady Jane, Love Muffin and Mr. Vegemite!! Awwww Fredcat, what bee-yoo-teeful pics you have in your diary! Me and my human, Patsy, are worried right now because we saw standing you in a box today - your humans aren't thinking of packing you up and mailing you off are they? Say it isn't so!!! Nooooooo!! We need you writing! Best loves, Callie Cat (and Patsy) Patsy B. and Callie, Jul 2 2007
------------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings, my old friend! Sorry not to write earlier, but Mom hardly ever gives me keyboard time. I read about your v*t trips... bummer! There you are, not feeling your best, and what do they do but whisk you off to the worst possible place in the universe, thinking that will make things better. I can't imagine what twisted logic goes into that, so I don't try, but I'm sure sorry you had to endure it. I'm very relieved you're feeling better despite that nonsense! Anyway, I'm writing to congratulate you on being an Intawebs Millionaire! I'm so chuffed to have such a famous pal! We really must get together again soon for more high adventure. Things are too boring around here (at least, until dinnertime). So you hang in there, buddy, and I'll see you soon. Hello Freddie! We are Baby and Sasha and Sweetpea and Lady Jane and Melah and Love Muffin. Just dropping a note to say hello and how handsome you are. We are kind of upset that our momma is taking care of this big black dude that comes over at 5 am in the morning and yowls outside her bedroom window! Love Muffin is so territorial that mom has to be careful to open the door because she wants to rush out and beat the crap out of him! He was left abandoned, and he is not fixed and has a terrible skin allergy. Mom feels sorry for him and takes care of him. Of course, she will not allow him to come inside, but, she does the best she can in taking care of him. She nicknamed him Vegemite. A black substance eaten and adored by Aussies. Dearest Fredcat,
I have to confess that I've been alarmed while reading your Famous Diary
this week. You seem to be having some health problems that are not easily
solved. Fredcat, please be sure to confide all your aches and pains to Mr.
B and Cathie, since they always have your best interests at heart and will
do everything they can to tend to your needs. Please don't try to be so
fearless and proud: all of us have hurts at some times, and we need our
loved ones to help us out. Think of the vet as your friend, and the vet's
office as a place to regain your health.
I will be anxiously awaiting a report from your wonderful humans, and am
wondering how I'll get through the weekend without worrying obsessively
about my Famous Friend. Please know that I will say prayers and hold all
the best wishes and highest hopes for your recovery. After all, you are
unique and irreplaceable.

Hi Fredcat,
I was perusing Jeter Harris's blog http://jeterharris.blogspot.com/ and he had posted a picture of a cat named Bruce who lives in Buckinghamshire, England. Bruce has facial markings that are very similar to yours and I know that you used to live in England. Could he be related to you in some way? He's not quite as handsome as you, but close.

Hi there, Buddy! Long time no talk! I know this email looks like it's coming from my mom, Susan, but she's gone to bed and it's my turn at the keyboard. Before I take my nap in it, I just wanted to commiserate on the arthritis thing. I have to take meds for mine, too, and it seems ridiculous. After all, I'm only six... have been for years... certainly way too young to have the misery in my joints. (Okay, I'm not as young as you, but still.) On the other hand, I must confess that taking that stuff really does help when I'm positioning myself at the food bowl or getting comfy in my bed. These humans and their pesky medicines are an annoyance sometimes, aren't they, my friend? But I suppose they mean well, and I guess we just have to humor them. After all, they're pretty fair company in most other ways (especially warm laps!). Gotta snooze out now. Keep the faith, Fred!

Happy New Year dear Fredcat!
2007 does seem like an interesting year to be ahead! Petey, Tally, Mia and I celebrated the evening quietly, watching the Acorn declare the new year's arrival in downtown Raleigh. The Fur Gang found the countdown (in the corner of the TV) to be more intriguing than the actual descent of the Acorn. They wanted to know how those numbers melted away so quickly, backwards at that! We humans often ponder the rapid passing of time. Wouldn't it be nice to slow it down a bit...especially on momentous occasions? Some neighbors celebrated with fireworks. The Fur Gang was curious as to the commotion, but didn't particularly care for the sporadic popping noise! It is with anticipation of an awesome year that the Fur Gang and I wish for you dear Fredcat , Cathie and Mr. B a most wonderful 2007! Congratulations on the longevity of your blog and it's popularity! We are among your greatest fans Fred!

Festive Felicitations Festooning For famous Furry Feline Friend Fredcat. Well I've done my bit for the season of good will, I've been on Hope Oasis telling them of your poorliness and the necessity for the visit to the v*ts. So hopefully LOTS OF SYMPATHY will be flowing your way from thence. Indeed, to be forcibly washed in what can only be described as rose water and then sent home smelling like a She cat's handbag is not a fate to be desired. On a lighter note ask Cathie if she ever remembers the great smell of BRUT by Faberge? Well it is back on the market and in the chemists (after shave and splash on body lotion). SWell it was good enough for 'Enry so it's good enough for me, of course I save the posh stuff for official engagements (the Gucci and the Lancombe) but good ol' Brut is good enough for every day.

Dear Fredcat, I am writing a few days early to wish you and your wonderful humans, Cathie and Mr. B, a fine Thanksgiving Day. I hope that you will be healthy
enough to eat plenty of meat and anything else that tastes good to you. I know that even at your tender age, you may require medicine and more visits

Fredcat, I want you to know that I am very thankful for your presence in my world. You have (unknowingly) kept me company many times, as I read your
diary, and have comforted me when I felt frustrated at a long spell of work or impatient with other humans. There can be no more eloquent feline than

Hi there, Dearest Fredcat!
The Fur Gang has asked me to relay their "Thanksgiving Greetings". Petey, Tally and Mia are eagerly awaiting Thanksgiving Day. As we do not know the exact date of their birth, we have set aside Thanksgiving Day every year to celebrate their birthdays. This year they will be 3 years old! They were born sometime around the last of November. We felt this day, to celebrate, quite fitting as we are very thankful for these three moggies...and all their antics.
Dear Fredcat, there is much to celebrate and for which to be thankful this year. The Fur Gang is very thankful for their Favorite, Famous, Feline Friend, Fredcat and his best humans, Cathie and Mr. B. We all wish you a great holiday with all the trimmings! Bring on the turkey bits with gravy! My goodness, how The Fur Gang does groom their whiskers at the thought!
Purrs and our best.

Hi there, Fur Gang and Teresa T!
Many thanks for your email. Now that Mr. B. has finished done sorting out my website I can concentrate on replying to emails more quickly. I love it when my friends get in touch with me!
The mere thought of turkey makes my mouth water. My humans can make a turkey last several days - which is good - even though I have to fight off my best human friend, Cathie, for all the best white meat. Mr. B. has to make do with the dark meat but he'll eat anything, anyway (like a lot of human males of my acquaintance!)
I bet you guys will have a lot of whisker-licking to do over the next fortnight (i.e. two weeks) until it's all over. Then on to Christmas - and the same, all over again! This time of year is my favourite! Apart from spring, because of the nice weather. And summer, because my Cathie has summer holidays and can be with me all day!

A Halloween Hello to Our Dear Fredcat!
A beautiful day to have such a wonderful day; praying for good health and lots of love to you. The Fur Gang and I have been much concerned about your health as of late and revel in the good news that you are doing quite well.
Trick or treat! Petey, Tally and Mia recently have taken to "treats" and do not care whether it is Halloween or not. "Treats" are "treats" according to them! They unabashedly ask for them daily. I guess that is OK....since they practice "tricking" me on a daily basis too. Oh, they do, so live the good life.
We hope that any Halloween goblins who visit you, come with only friendly spirits! No costumes here, Dear Fredcat. We are what we are! Sometimes that might be thought of as scary enough. No Spooky thoughts, Dear Fredcat, just wishes for you, Cathie and Mr.B to have a very happy, healthful and safe Halloween!

I do believe that you are going to be five. Quite a milestone.
As good manners preclude asking a lady her age, so I will refrain from enquiring as to the year of your birth. Suffice it to say that whichever year it was, we have all been blessed that it ever occurred.

Dear Fredcat,
Hello, I found your website quite by accident. I find it to be truly charming. I have to admit, I am one of those “cat lover” persons.
Your best friend Cathie must be a very special person and she is very lucky you found her. I have tears in my eyes as I am writing to you—I lost my beloved pet cat, Porky, two years ago this past June. She also found me at a pet adoption center in the town where I live. She was very old and lived a long life, but I still miss her very much. She was a very special cat—you would have liked her very much. Cheryl H., IN, Sep 12 2006

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our beloved Cathie!!!! Many happy returns, dear Cat Lady! ;) from your neighbor, Suze Susan Lackey, Carrboro, NC, Aug 30 2006

Dearest Fredcat and Family. Have you ever considered setting up a way your many worldwide fans could "chat" with one another regarding you and the many great topics and links that are provided in your beautifully written diary. Just a thought. Please be well. Love, Peaches and Petey Penelope and Petey, Aug 29 2006
------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi there. Penelope!
My goodness you have set me a poser and no mistake!
I asked both my best human friend, Cathie, and the Grumpy One to think about this and they haven't really come up with an answer.
There is a service called a "Chat Room" available but there are lots of risks associated with it. Apparently, so my peeps tell me, everything that is said (that means written) in a chat room stays there almost forever, it seems, and chat room security can be rather poor. There are stark warnings presented to users every time one logs on to a chat room. I would hate to be around if the chat room talk became "messy".
This was one of the considerations we thought about when we set up the Guestbook, I recognise that the Guestbook is not interactive and the speed of loading to the internet depends upon my humans transferring comments to the Guestbook from the emails sent to me. They always, eventually, do this but they are slow sometimes if other activities get in the way.
If one uses Gmail or Yahoo mail then it is possible to "chat" interactively with each other. You and I could do this if we were both online at the same time but I'm not sure how it would work with a third party who wanted to join in ...
I have tried to keep the personal details of Fredcat readers away from prying eyes so that nobody can guess who they are (within reason). I don't keep "records" of those who email me and of course I have no commercial interest in anyone who does email me; I don't pass on or sell details to third parties.
If you have any further thought please let me know.
With very best wishes,
Fredcat the Famous Fredcat Sep 4, 2006

Fantastic Felicitations For Favourably Furry Feline Friend Fredcat the Famous. Well you will never believe it but today has been Chadkirk Festival day and I have been watching those medieval people who call themselves the knightrs in battle. Realn funn stuff it was too! As they actually do follow the medieval lifestyle (even eating the same type of food as wot they did in the middle ages). Jolly interesting for a middle aged bloke like me Aaah to be a bold knight like wot dem Howards were (dreams of being a bold footsoldier with all that padding and chain mail, it takes a bold man or a good flight of arrows to find a chink in his armour. Alas though I have to awaken from such drerams methinks, just like your dreams of having a royal visitor, simply dreams -alas. Reality is not so but I hope you enjoy your visitors and treat them like royalthy.

Hola amigos : tengo 49 años y una niña de 11. Cuando era pequeño mis padre me llevaron a ver una película que se grabó en mi mente. En ella una gatita
llamada Tomasina me hizo reir y llorar.

Dearest Fredcat, I haven't written in so long-- please forgive me. I've been busy at work and actually took a couple of little vacations (I think you call them
"holidays"). I hope that things in your household are to your liking. And naturally I wish you, Cathie, and Mr. B the best of health. I am so honored when you use my name (!) in your diary. I am merely your humble fan, so it's a thrill when I see my name used close to yours. I will keep trying to send you interesting articles, in fact, I have one today and here's the link: . It's about the resident cat at the Algonquin Hotel in New York City, and how his secretary manages his emails. Fredcat, do you think you'd like to live in a fancy hotel? It would mean being petted by a lot of strangers, but you
would probably share in the delicacies prepared by the hotel chef! Oh well, you are best off in the loving arms of Cathie (and even the grumpy Mr. B, your scribe).

Darling Fredcat, I think you might be being a wee bit unfair about this Father's Day thing. You may not have a relationship with your own father, and you may not have any kits of your own (both true of many animals, fur and human alike), but you DO have someone near who fills the role of... almost... very nearly... dare I say it? a Dad. I am so happy! Lots and lots of kind felines and their best human friends have written nice things to me. I am now purrectly content and I'll continue to do my best to keep my blog going. Some of you sent very colourful messages in all sorts of amusing fonts but I'm afraid that when Mr. B. got hold of them they all just sort of went a plain old black colour. I'm very sorry about that, but what can a famous feline do? One just can't get the staff, you know. I also note that some of the emails I sent to y'all around my triennium "bounced back". My best human friend, Cathie tells me that humans change their email addresses frequently, and I fear that some of my faithful readers didn't receive my personal message. It wasn't intentional, my friends! See you all soon. Fredcat the Famous Fredcat Jun 20, 2006

Hello Fredcat, Many congratulations on your 3 yr anniversary for your diary!!!! I miss having entries every day but I know a 'famous' cat like you needs time to take care of other things.
I have had a stroke since our adventure 'Wedding Bells'. I recovered completely except have a 'sexy' (can I say that?) little turn of my head to the right. It took me awhile to get back to some of the usual things of the day but am glad to be back. Again, congrats on your 3rd anniversary!!

In fact my best friend Angela is typing this for me, we hangout all the time! But I think I'm getting her angry...because I always love to sleep on her bed at night with her. That's not the problem though, it's my nightmares! (and my snoring!) But what can I do Mr.Fredcat?Angela is very nice and has to wake up to make sure I'm ok, I'm sure she's tired! Please help Fredcat!!! Amber, May 31 2006
------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi there, Amber!
Thank you for dictating your message to me! I fully understand about writing. When Mr. B. was young (aeons ago) everyone wrote on paper but it's a lot easier now that there's computers - but even writing that way is proving to be too hard a task for some younger folk. So, of course, we felines lose out because of sloth. Ah, well.
I don't think your best human friend Angela need worry too much. If she loves you dearly she will put up with the occasional snore or two from a truly great feline. If you're having nightmares then I suggest ejecting all bad thoughts from your mind before you go to bed - and then follow that up by reading a page or two from my famous diary. That will surely put your mind into "Tai Chi" (?) or some similar meditation thingie. It works for me! And tell Angela not to watch horror movies in bed late at night. When I go to bed I go to sleep (!) for hours and hours and hours and hours .... on end
If all else fails, ask Angela to ask me to send her a Fredcat bumper sticker. They're great for sleeping on - or for sticking on one's vee-hickle. That has to help!
Best wishes, Fredcat the Famous Fredcat May 31, 2006

I enjoyed your Election Day diary entry very much, my dear. I am glad that Mr. B and our Cathie are not so swept up in their new allegiance that they have lost their critical regard for the machinations of politicians everywhere.
But I especially liked the article on grammar and birds, because of the way it exposed the absurdity of much of human scientific thought.
This from the article:
"What the experiment shows is that language and animal cognition is a lot more complicated than scientists once thought [duh, says I] and that there is no "single magic bullet" that separates man from beast"
Silly scientists! If man is not an beast.. er, animal, what do you suppose they think he is? Personally, I think the thing that separates man from the other animals is the notion of the bullet. (This is not a compliment.)
Ah, Fredcat, if only we could all be cats! It would be such a better world! But wait. Who, then, would open a tin of our best tuna when we are feeling a bit peckish? *sigh* I suppose we will have to muddle through as best we can with the way things are.

And I am so pleased that your Cathie is on a better course of treatment for
her health problem: she is such a delightful and caring person, we all
want her to be hale and hearty. Kudos to Mr. B too, for his part in taking
care of both you and Cathie. I think that the reciprocal cat-human

Fantastic Felicitations For Famous Furry Feline Friend Fredcat, Aliterations pouring off the page. I see my sending you the information about agent Humphrey landed upon fertile ground. I thought that anyone related to the famous Tony booth of Till Death Us Do Part Fame (Who was so affectionately called an Idle Scouse Git by Alf Garnett). It is quite curious but tony and Warren never got on in real life either suprisingly enough Tony became the Father of the Blair Witch. I mean no malice as I am a true socialist, I vote S.D.P. Also note that it was her that did it to Humphrey! It was she that got him shifted from the luxury of No 10 to a sparse living oe the military type (up at six and two hours parade before breakfast, Yessarr! My dear Fantastically Favourite Furry Feline Friend Fredcat, I am very concerned about your self confessed love of these Cheetos. There is evidence of genetically engineered DNA in the corn (see Wickipedia) I doubt that it really effects your wonderous amazing self, but it gives me something to be concerned about.

Hmmmm. It seems from your Diary entry today that someone, at least, knows the truth that you got a Valentine from a d*g. I swear I didn't tell! Maybe no one will notice. Heck, poor silly Daisy herself barely notices she's a d*g. She thinks of herself as a Fredcat Fan, first and foremost, you know. Well, we'll say no more about it. Daisy is happy that she sent her hero a Valentine, and has no idea of the controversy. And you, of course are grand enough to live anything down, even this! Good heavens, my dear, it's not as though you shot anyone! (Oh, my, did I really say that? )
Much love and continued good wishes to you and your peoples, Dear Boy.

My Dearest Star,
Sorry I didn't write sooner, but I was waiting for the Oscar nominations to come out, now that your clever humans have overcome the technical difficulties with your films. Yet I was stunned not to see your name among the nominations! Not only have you made five excellent films, but Number 4, which showcases an understated yet compelling performance by The Famous One, on top of edgy and brilliant camera work, should surely have been at the top of the categories! I can only conclude that Hollywood is intimidated by your powerful presence. Perhaps the the indie route is best for one such as you. I'll see if I can get Robert Redford on the phone, shall I? In the meantime, please keep filming!
Your biggest fan,

Fredeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have just been looking at all your videos in one sitting. Now that they are running at the correct speed they look impossibly better. If that could be ever imagined!
Sweetie pie, how fabulous you are.
Now then, if I were you, I’d give serious consideration to giving houseroom to another feline.
The advantages are many.
Someone else to blame for all ‘mishaps’. Because of course you could never be responsible for any naughtiness, now could you?
Someone to teach all your skills too. Which would take a long time as you have so many.
Someone to collude with to make Mr B’s life even busier. He could do with the exercise as sitting down watching sport on the TV all day is not a good idea and he needs some help.
There would be more food around.
You would have someone to talk to when your humans are engaged on making your life bearable, such as shopping for you and cooking and cleaning for you.
You would have help with all the more mundane chores, such as pleasing your humans. They do need the odd tit bit from time to time and you have more important things to do, such as sleep. Growing five year old cats need their kip you know.
Also, you would always get the praise for the good things, because a mere whippersnapper kitten could never be as accomplished as you.
Leading me on to this, no one could be as good as you and you would look even better than you do now.
Oh, Freddy, I do hope you decide on further feline support. Tigger, Snotty and Ginger send their love and hope you do too.

I trust this is luvvie enough for you my precious. I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos and hope to see many more of them. It made my heart glad to see you in your surrounds and I also enjoyed the pussy chasing bubbles. Of course, you are above such kittenish things being five, but it was amusing nevertheless. Well done to Mr B for making this possible and to Cathie for the captions.

Darling boy, today may be the gloomiest day of the year according to the pundits, but to me it is a Very Happy Day! Not only have I seen, not one, but two intaweb videos of The Famous One, but I find that our Cathie is well enough to return to work full time! Well, yes, I concede that this is a mixed blessing for the men in her life, and even, perhaps, for herself, but it must also mean that she is well and strong again, and that is worth everything! Congratulations to the Fredcat household! (And if Mr. B can remove the Chaplin-like quickness from your films, dear boy, I am sure we will see you at Cannes!)

Today's diary intimates that our dear Cathie is on the mend, and I am SO glad to hear it. Remember what I said about taking good care of her, O furry one! Cathie is a rare gem and, for now at least, quite delicate. So snuggle gently and give her your best purrs! (As I know you will.)

Fantasmagoricly Favourable Felicitations Famous furry Feline Fredcat,
superlative greetings to you my favourite friend. What wonderous links were in your daily diary today, I particularily enjoyed watching the tree rats being nurtured by some woman (she'll live to regret it as tame squirrels are very nasty once returned to the wild) and wouldn't you become nasty after living in virtual luxury being thrust out into the wild. think of that rapscallion Squire, I bet he was originally raised by the humans. I expect that is why he was so used to easy living! So be warned that squirrels are not pets, they do not adapt to captive life easily.

Dearest Freddie
As the faithful scribe of the intrepid secret agent, whose street name is Tigger, I have been asked to convey her gratitude at the most felicitous mention on your diary page.
This miserable scribe has been suitably chastised by her mistress for her silliness and indeed, has been placed under close supervision by Tigger as she types this missive. Tigger is ensconsed on the computer chair with me overseeing every finger click. I have been ordered to stay within the eyeline of Mistress Tigger, even having to accompany her whilst she is attending to her ablutions. Such is the punishment exacted for doubting her loved mistress's return.
Tigger asked me to say that she sends purrs and miaows of the most cordial nature to the world's most famous cat and that she has seen and approved of the google decoration of his name. Only to be expected really.

Dear Sweet Fredcat,
Thank you so much for corresponding with me. What occurred to me when I
saw the "Cat Evolution" article was that I knew of the most highly evolved cat ever: your wonderful self, Fredcat! And you are generous enough to share your wisdom and humor with your fans, too. All those eras of migrating cats have produced many awe-inspiring felines, small and large, but none could best you.
I'm troubled to hear of your Cathie's fall, just as I was when I read that she'd had to go to the hospital before Christmas for another ailment. I do hope you and Mr. B are running the household for the time being, so that she doesn't exert herself unnecessarily.
By the way, you are looking particularly marvelous in your photos these days. Do you grow an extra layer of ginger fur when the weather is chilly?
Dare I say it? I would love to pet you. I've heard you refer to Mr. B's
"chuck-a-chins": if there's a particular technique to them, then we, your fans, would like to be instructed in it.
Please stay well and convey my best wishes to Cathie.

Favourable Fellicitations Famous Furry Feline Friend Fredcat,
I was so suprised seeing that the google organisation has honoured you so by giving you your own search-engine. What a star you are! Alas poor me (woe is me) I'm still suffering tfrom the after effects of having a darned viral infection (snotty nose and sensitive feeling all round my body) That is what happens when one has spent New Year in a house with three young kiddies like I did. Ah well at least there was a housefull of revellers (eight I think) to let the New Year in and the two babies conveniantly woke up before the chimes and so then there were ten (strong stuff that milk) -stick to water. Hope to be in a better mood when I next email you.

My dearest Fangtasmagoric Famous Furry Feline Friend Fredcat,
After reading your diary entry dated 4th Jan I have realised that Mr B is just a cat domicile speculator. These are the worst kind when one realizes that they are not interested in making said cat (that's you that is) happy in the long term when all they see is not a contented puss but dollar bills. So said speculator (that's Mr B that is) is realy a money grabbing oportunist who plays on the comfort of contented cats (like what you is). In my opinion such as would do this to you should look to his own abode before Cathie gets wind of his heartless gestures. Making a packet indeed! Happen this certain party should look to his own home comforts before Cathie sells them on ebay. I wonder what luxury Cathie shall start with.... JimmyDeFish, Stockport, England, Jan 4 2006

MERRY CHRISTMAS to the most Famous Fredcat and his Humans! Me and "The Fur Gang" hope all your Christmas Wishes come true!
Petey, Tally and Mia are in sensory overload. Enough of the decorating already, they declared! Mia's favorite places to hide pilfered "stuff" are exhausted. Wrapped boxes know no mercy! They are the targets of crazy games of hide-and-seek, pounce-and-destroy. They have even tried a couple of candy canes...never mind the cellophane wrappers or the peppermint flavor. They don't have the finesse and manners that you have dear Fredcat. Alas, they are only two years old.

Dear Fredcat, I've enjoyed catching up with your diary, and appreciate all the worthy articles and websites cited there. I think of you very often, and wonder how you feel about things going on in the world. For instance, I saw a photo today of a d*g at Yahoo.com today (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20051018/od_afp/britainanimaloffbeat_

TA5bGVna3NhBHNlYwNzc3JlbA) that was truly alarming. It was in the context of luxuries that humans buy to pamper their non-human companions, but honestly, I don't see the value of this particular product. Surely a cat would not allow this to happen! Anyway, I thought I'd call it to your attention. Please do take care, as the weather is getting colder. I will try to write again soon. love & hugs, from, Dana, Oct 10 2005

Hiya you birthday boy you. I don't count this as a belated wish, as in the country I come from, birthdays always last for three days. So by my reckoning, you should still be celebrating. I am gratified to see that the Canadians have recognised your famosity and granted you citizenship. No more than you deserve. I detect a distant flavour in your mewsings of late, and must say, I find they add an extra dimension. I would be extra kind to Mr. B. if I were thee, as the imminent closure of the Terry's Chocolate Factory is a great blow to us all. Particularly those of us who are partial to a chocolate orange or three. You never know, if he is too distraught, he may not remember to feed you!

Dearest Fredcat, I wish you a Happy, Happy Birthday with all my heart, and thank you for setting such a good example for cats (and their best human friends) everywhere. I hope you have the best possible birthday --because you richly deserve it -- and remember that you are much loved and respected for your intelligence, wit, and discriminating tastes, as well as your handling of cat-to-human relationships, which can be trying, after all. I don't have your home address, so a virtual greeting will have to do; also, the following family cats (Gizmo from California, Buttercup from Hawaii, Grayzie from Hawaii, and Brigsy from Florida), pictured below, send you their admiring felicitations. They cannot hope to achieve the stature in life that you have accomplished, but they appreciate your inspiring, world-famous presence. Hey Freddy, I just finished reading your newest entries...have you been doing some independent computor studies? You seem to be in tip top shape the past two days. Tell Cathie (best human friend) that her translations of your mewsings (cute word) are most entertaining. Sorry about your frozen computor but I'm glad to hear you understood the word "frozen" in context, not with food, but some computor deal. Maybe you could tell me about it so I can thaw mine out if it happens to me. Love, Charlie, Raleigh, NC, Sep 29 2005

Dearest Freddikins, I have followed your progress over recent days with concern and avidly await the results of your latests blood tests. I am really pleased that you are restored to your frisky self. Regarding weightier matters, just be patient with the humans, they really do have your interest at heart so be patient with the resultant irritations darling boy. Even if it does result in what appear to be thin rations. I hope your tummy works are improved and you do not find yourself embarrassed by inappropriate eliminations.
Michael and I miss you a lot, especially as we are quite sad as your good friend Snowy has moved on to the great cat heaven in the sky. I am sure he is looking down benignly on us all and is making friends with others of your past acquaintance.

Fellicitations Famous Furry Feline Friend Fredcat,
Why you worrying about your place in the scheme of things? The only thing that you need to know is that you is, and then you isn't. Of course I could put it simpler by saying that to some people your feelings are the most important things and TO OTHERS YOU ARE NOT. Personally I fit into the former of the two, I also think that Mr B. is trying to fit into that cat/agory too even though he misses administering the dreaded goo.
I leave you with this thought though, I recon that you and your great fame place you second from top (Cathie top) Over Mr B. -you win by miles. So don't look at the whole picture, look at your own domain and it is not so bad. Love and Peace be upon you my little pal. Greetings from Jimmydefish XXX Jimmydefish, Stockport, England,

Hey Fredcat, I had to write & thank you for the smile still on my face. Your link to "little tune" was the cutest thing ever. I listened to it twice & will definitely go back & play it again. Thanks for adding it to your diary! Wanda, Colton, OR, Jul 6 2005

A two year old website for the fantastic five year old feline Fredcat. I know it is very unprecedented of me to have two guestbook enteries so close but that makes me think, how long have I been following your blog? Even though it seems to be only five minutes it must be at least eighteen months, and every moment has been worthwhile, I'm so glad I was directed to your site by feline psychic direction. (There must be some link between us two somehow). Anyhow heres a few hip hips to be HOORAYED! From your best of mates jimmydefish Jimmydefish, Stockport, England, Jun 17 2005

Dear Fredcat - I've been reading that you're still taking the goo, but getting oodles of cuddles at the same time. I've also read that you're starting to feel better and the goo is working. Better health AND extra cuddles. I think it's a fair trade for a bit of goo
every now and then. Continued improvement, little one. With love from your devoted fan, Tracy, Calgary, AB, Canada, Jun 7 2005

Well Fredcat..I guess you know how to get Mr B worried now! Lots of sneezing! I do enjoy the shaking screen, but wish you could stop the sneezing. You might mention to your best human friend Cathie & Mr B that perhaps it is something in your food that you have become allergic too. Maybe a complete change for a few weeks to see if there is any improvement. Just a thought....was thinking of you & hope you are doing well. Wanda, Colton, OR, Jun 2 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh Fredcat you perenial five year old. Here I send my very best wishes for your speedy recovery from your malady. May you forever awaken the Grumpy one as I'm sure it is good for his metabolism. Keep taking the medics as it is they that keep you alive. Jimmydefish, Stockport, England, May 31 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Fredcat - I see you're home again after your visit to the VSH, and a most impressive place it looked to be.
I can't tell you how pleased I am to find out that you have allergies only and not something more serious. I know that allergies don't seem like such a happy occasion to you, but believe me, little one, they are a happy outcome - only outdone by finding out that there is nothing wrong at all. I too have allergies, but they cleared right up after taking the almost same steroids that you are being given. Let's hope they do the same for you.
I'm glad you're home and everyone in the Fredcat household can breathe a sigh of relief. I hope you know, dear Fredcat, how lucky you are to have such a wonderful and caring family as Cathie and the (I'm not so sure how grumpy) Grumpy Mr.B. are. Just as I'm sure they realize how fortunate they are to be graced with the presence of such a famous and truly wonderous feline such as yourself.
Happy Homecoming.
As always, Tracy, Calgary, AB, Canada, May 29 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Fredcat:
This is your friend WeezerCat speaking to you. My mom has been singing all day that you only have allergies. I don't have any idea why she is so happy. I have allergies, too, and she always gets very upset when I start sneezing and coughing in the Spring and Fall. Anyway, I just wanted to say that She has made me take various pills and "steroid" (what is that???) goop, too, and I hate it! But I do get extra treats when I have to take it. And I suppose I do feel better after a while. And besides, if it makes the poor humans feel better about things, it's best in the long run to just to go along with it. They get so little out of life, after all, poor things. Why, they don't even know how much fun it is to chase spiders in the bathtub! Silly dears. So anyway, feel better soon. I enjoy your diary. I look at it when Mom is at work. Weezer, friend of Susan L. Carrboro, NC,

------------------------------------------------------------------
My dearest Fredcat, I am saddened to hear of your allergies but I am also relieved that this can be treated easily. Did you know that I also am on steroids? So we're somewhat alike (other than the paw thing you have going on)! Trust me, those steroids will help you tremendously.
I am very happy that this story had a happy ending. I must admt that I was very scared for you my dear Fredcat. Kudos to Cathie and Mr. B for pursuing a diagnosis and getting you well.
With love, Shauna Shauna, Washougal, WA, May 28 2005

Good evening to the famous red boy! I am so very sorry to hear you are not well again. I do worry about you my friend. I do hope the experts at VSH have found out your problem and can put you on the road to recovery! I am anxiously awaiting the diagnosis.......Your nurse friend Donna, Apex, Raleigh, NC, May 27 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh Fredcat, I'm so sorry that you had such trouble last night. It seems patently unfair that you can't breathe through your mouth. I continue to read your tails with worry over your health. You, of course, look as handsome as ever. You have a large group of admirers who are hoping you continue to get better. I do think you deserve more treats for being so stoic. Perhaps Mr. B or Cathie could cook up some nice tuna for you tonight. I do think you deserve it mightly. Shauna, Washougal, WA, May 27 2005

Dearest, dearest one, I have had some experience with the VSH in the past, and know it to be an excellent facility, filled with the kindest and most knowledgeable of experts and staff. I am confident that they will make your stay among them a productive one, and speed your return to the Fredcat residence. And what an honor for them to have such a celebrity among them! They are bound to hover 'round and ask all sorts of things of you. I trust that you will be gracious and accede to their requests.
I will be thinking of you every minute, my Fredcat. My heartfelt good wishes and constant prayers are with you, and with your beloved human friends. I cannot say more. My heart is full. I love you, beautiful boy. Your friend, Susan Susan L, Carrboro, NC, May 24 2005

Hello Fredcat! I hear you're on quite the journey. I hope they are treating you very well at the VSH. Make sure they know who is boss around there, ok? I like you too much for you to be sick, so pass those tests. I'll put in a good word for major treats when you get home.

Hello Fredcat, Mr. B and Cathie! Fredcat, I caught the hint of sneezing again. I do hope you'll seek help for that sneeze via the help of your human friends. Since you're my favorite cat, I really want you well. Give those human friends a passing glance from me. And tell your best human friend to give you extra treats, on my orders. Shauna, Washougal, WA, May 22 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh-oh. I see that your webpage seems to have the sneezes again. I clicked on the word 'snuffle' and the screen erupted into a shaking fit. I do hope that only the computer has the snuffles again and not you, my dearest cutie-cat. Or maybe it's that sneaky Mr. B. playing tricks on us, using the intraweb to scare us into thinking something is wrong with our screens.
I also read that you've been scheduled to visit the University, and a fine one it looks to be. I'm sure that they'll treat you with all the care and respect befitting one of your stature, and you'll emerge all the better for your visit.
Be well, little one. With love from your devoted fan, Tracy, Calgary, AB, Canada, May 21 2005

Hi Fredcat.Just finished reading your entry for today and followed the link for Mothering Sunday. I am gratified to know it originated in Ancient Greece. Like most good things!!!
By the way, many congratulations for the fabulous picture of you reflected in

Why, that would be Fredcat of course. That is a great picture of you in the mirror. What a handsome boy you are, and what a treat for us because we get to see ALL of you at the same time. I bet that it was your best friend Cathie who came up with that clever picture.Keep up the good work, my feline friend (and the wonderful Cathie and Mr.B) Your devoted fan, Tracy, Calgary, AB, Canada, May 9 2005

Fredcat,
What an accomplishment you have reached! 500 entries is quite the milestone!!
It is indeed a special day! Today, you deserve an "extra helping" of whatever your little heart desires.
Petey, Tally, Mia and I are quite honored to read your 500th entry today. They think that you Fredcat, are a most admirable role model. Petey wants to know if he can have 500 morsels of food today in your honor...you know, just to be able to grasp the magnitude of your feat. My three fur babies meow "kudos" for Fredcat!
Congratulations dear Fredcat! We look forward to celebrating your 1000th entry.

Fredcat - I'm only new to reading about your adventures, but have already found them to be an interesting and fun read. Imagine my surprise when I found our you've already made 500 entries and at such a young age.
I hope that you can continue to write about your many adventures and your life with your best friend Cathie and The Grumpy Mr. B for many, MANY years to come.
Congratulations on reaching this historic event of 500 entries. It's a milestone to be proud of. Rick, Apr 23 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Congratulations on your recent achievement. 500 entries is a HUGE accomplishment in itself, but it's more amazing when you take into account your young age of only 5 years old.
I'll bet that in the whole world you're the only feline to even come CLOSE to that number. Plus, the other cats haven't a chance of becoming the OSF of NC, so it's two claims to fame for you. Your talents seem endless.
I hope your day is filled with lots of snuggles and treats and surprises (but only the good kind), with no fishy goo in site. Hugs to all of you at the Fredcat house. Congratulations, little one. As always I remain, Your devoted fan Tracy, Calgary, AB, Canada, Apr 23 2005

Hi Fred, looking over your diary, it looks as if you are on the mend. I am happy to see it. Your friend Tigger is much better. Her appetite has returned and she thinks that the T in tuna stands for Tigger's dinner. Snowy is snuffly at present but basically OK. He has always been a snuffly boy and had sinusitis when younger. Your grasp of current affairs never fails to astound. I was impressed to see the analogies you drew with the curia and your own fiefdom. Sharp as ever.Hope the recovery continues apace.

Hi Fred! It's been a busy day in the 'Pool. Grand National. As you know, this is the
most prestigious race in the world and we hold it here, almost without fail every year. This year, Hedgehunter won by 14 lengths, which is a lot in racing.
Anyway darling one. On the subject of funerals and the principal attending it, I saw a programme the other week set in a remote area of Scotland and one of the characters had a funeral party, so that they could enjoy the fuss before the bother, so to speak. It appeared to be a sort of custom. And one I heartily recommend for those of us, meaning you, who deserve to have a fuss
made of them.
I hope this takes the sting out of your learning curve, now that you actually know what a funeral is. But then dear boy, you are only 5! A lifetime of learning ahead.Best loves mx Margaret, Liverpool, Apr 10 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Freddie darling boy! I hope you are well. I think your humans need educating in the sleeping habits of mature cats. Your friends Snowy, Tigger, Ginger and Snotty do like very long naps indeed. All that brain power needs good rest. And deeds need
planning and organising. The lack of opposable thumbs, which you have mentioned once or twice, precludes them using a palm pilot or a note book, so of coursel you clever cats have to commit to memory and that takes time. Which leads to long nap times.
Oh, well, nothing much to report. I hope you are feeling as chipper as I am today. Best loves mx Margaret, Liverpool, Mar 31 2005

Dear Fredcat, I am writing to tell you how much I enjoyed your March 22nd entry with the "sneezed" inserts. Loved the earthquake effect!! You are such a clever cat. I do hope you are feeling well & enjoying your famous life. Wanda Wanda, Colton, OR, Mar 28 2005

realise what it was, but I was a bit sleepy at the time. Well done the Grumpy

affliction to give your readers a smile. Well done again. Margaret, Liverpool, Mar 26 2005

Dear Fredcat - I've heard through the grapevine that you're feeling better. Actually, not only feeling better, but you're back on patrol protecting your family from mice, squirrels and the odd wayward deer.
What good news this is, and I know that your best friend Cathie (and even the Grumpy Mr. B) must also feel so much better knowing that you're back to being the healthy fif...ummm...five year old cat that you normally are.
I'm glad the drugs worked, and I'll assume the tuna flavor was thought better of than the banana, as not too much fuss seemed to be made this time in taking your medicine.
Continued improvement and good health, little one. Your devoted fan, Tracy, Calgary, AB, Canada, Mar 3 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Glad to hear your health is improving. That is the best news I have heard today. BUT, you need to remind your human friends that March 1st is St David's Day. The feast day of the patron saint of Wales. Now I know there is a lot of friendly rivalry between England and Wales, but why should St Patrick and St Andrew get all the kudos?
You should have been reminded of this because of the magnificent display of daffodils, the floral emblem of Cymru, that you have in your gardens. You could have further celebrated by partaking of a mite of leek and potato soup (with ham for your benefit), Welsh Rarebit, Larva Bread and a drop scone or two.
Bora dah, feline friend. Don't forget that the 23 April is not too far off either.
Best loves. Margaret, Liverpool, near Wales, Mar 1 2005

And you have many more years in front to prove your Fredcat worth,

And so we let ourselves go -and shout hip hip hip hooray! Jimmydefish, Stockport, England, Feb 26 2005

------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Mr Fredcat, Get well soon ya handsome boy! The weather will soon be getting warmer and you will need to spend more time outside protecting your home from roving d*gs. I hope the tuna medicine tastes much better to you than the banana.
:) Dusty, Victor, ID, Feb 18 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Fredcat - It was with great concern that I read about your recent bout of snuffling and such. I was relieved to find that it wasn't the same thing that was troubling you in the past. *Whew* - what a relief that must have been for all of you. We can't have a feline as famous as you being sick, now, can we. I also read that you're going to be taking tuna flavored Ciprofloxacin.
Personally, I would prefer the banana flavor, however, that isn't why I brought it up. I was looking up the medicine, making sure that there wasn't anything in there that cats can't have (we can't have be careful enough, with someone as famous as you), and noticed that this drug is also used for something called "Cat Scratch Disease". This struck me as very strange. They won't have you as OSF, but they'll name a disease (of all things) after a CAT! Sometimes there just isn't any justice. Feel better soon, cutie cat. As always, Your devoted fan Tracy, Calgary, AB, Canada, Feb 18 2005
------------------------------------------------------------------
Dearest boy, I am devastated to hear you have the miseries again. I don't know. You will have to quell your adventuresome nature and keep away from the mulch methinks. You may be heartened to hear that the v^t may just be right about the
idiopathic nature of your snuffles. Your good friends, Snowy and Tigger have always been sneezy cats, indeed, Snowy, way back in his adolescence had sinusitis! They are in the main very healthy cats indeed and are fast approaching their nineteenth birthdays. They still make the d*g lead a d*g's life, make sure she is kept at the bottom of the animal heap and in general, play lots of nasty, ahem, clever tricks on her. By the way Freddie dearest, whose bed are you lounging on in your photo today? Margaret, Liverpool, England, Feb 18 2005

Hel-lo Fredcat, yes it's me your Valentine posting you a message in your guestbook. Shame we're divided by such a large amount of water (I hate water) the thing is that we are having an extra room built on top of the house where I live and if only you could come over for the week-end we'd have such fun. There is a d*g in the house though but I can assure you that a cat of your stature would soon knock Chip the Jack-Russell into shape (anyway he knows who is boss, me that is, and so he is no trouble). This room is bound to have a bed in it and so we could get snuggley without any troubling my humans. I'm just off for my beauty sleep now (after all us fift...er five year olds, need our beauty sleep) See you in my dreams big boy.

Freddikins, just read your latest diary entry and with regard to your thought on energy, is this the Atkins diet plan?
Because I have heard one criticism of the Atkins plan that says because energy cannot be created or destroyed, then where does the fat go (aka energy)? So it makes sense to conserve what you have. Inspiration for failed dieters all over the world I think. I include myself in this. Margaret, Liverpool, England, Feb 9 2005

I was most interested to read your thoughts on the Superbowl. If Momma Cathie has kept the adverts on tape, who knows, your best Aunt Margaret might get to see them one day!
I do hope you were joking when you said that Mr B was drinking alcohol straight out of the tin, without benefit of a glass! I can't see him doing that somehow, despite his striving for versimilitude.
I was amused to hear about the puss cats who opened the fridge door. The only reason I can give for them not eating the purloined food was that it took such physical effort to prise open the door that they were too exhausted to eat it. Tasks of such a menial nature need to be left for the butler to do, as you know only too well.
I do hope you become the OSF for North Carolina, as being the USF kind of leaves one in limbo, as well as possibly precipitating an identity crisis. Not for you dear heart, but for those who don't know you too well.

you live in lots of clover. (O.K. it's just a term I don't actualy mean you live in the green stuff so Mr B. can put the lawn rake down, If he ever has picked it up.)
To earn such precious super care,
Your missions you complete,
and Cathie she is always there,
with a tasty Fredcat treat.
So now let each and everyone,
who hold the Fredcat dear,
take one deep breath,
then let it out in one big rousing cheer,
Hip..Hip..Hoooray

OH MY!!! Thank you so much for including my handsome boy on your website! He is a fine one! We will not forget you when the movie deals start pouring in! Oh, and cat food commercials...so many things to think about! Please let Fredcat know that his nagging was appreciated by my boys! Now they ALL want to appear on the computer! Oh, and tell Fredcat all of us believe HE should be the Official State Feline for NC! Thanks again...Your Friend, Donna Donna, Raleigh, NC, Feb 3 2005

Dear Fredcat, You will be a spectacular Official State Feline! I think Mr. B needs to go through the official channels and have you made the OSF as soon as possible! NC will be lucky to have such a wonderful specimen of feline as you. Dusty, Victor, ID, Feb 2 2005

Meow, Mr. Fredcat. Please allow us to introduce ourselves: I am Kitty Schottland, a fifteen-year-old dark tortie; this is Capt. Midnight, the Good Luck Black Cat, who is eleven-and-a-half; and finally Lilith Kitten, a four-year-old tabby-and-white-striped muted tortie. We really love to visit your web site with our human mom, Debby, and have learned a lot from reading it. Debby, Boca Raton, FL, Feb 2 2005

Dear Fredcat,
Petey, Mia and Tally and myself extend our best wishes to you, Cathie and Mr. B. for a fabulous Famous Fredcat year in 2005! My three little fur "babies" are so excited at receiving their first ever email... and from such a famous one! Petey enjoyed so much today's photographs of your moggie friends. He is young at only one year of age, and has much to learn about solving mysteries. So far, he just seems to create them! He is a funny boy. His sisters, Mia and Tally are his partners in crime. When the three of them have their heads together, something is bound to turn up missing. Mia is the kleptomaniac though. She has cleverly "misplaced" many ink pens to her favorite hiding places.
We are all in favor of Fredcat the Famous for State Feline! North Carolina would be most honored! Thank you again for sharing your daily loggings with us. We eagerly await each day for a blog of the Famous One.
Our best wishes to all of you. Teresa Talley , Petey, Mia and Tally, Sanford, NC, Feb 2 2005

Hello Fredcat, Cathie and Mr. B. The d*gs and I are always happy to hear from you and to visit the site. The d*gs are not sure why Fredcat can have a site and such exciting adventures when they can't, but I just give them a biscuit and they forget very quickly. See you soon Betsy, Chance and Henry, NC, Jan 31 2005

Hey Fredcat....Of course you should be the Official State Feline!! Who else
would be worthy of the title? No one of course! There is not another cat in NC
as well known, with their own website & as popular as you are. Can't believe
they have a d*g selected & not a cat. Just think how pleased your best friend
Cathy & Mr. B would be! As pampered as you are already, they would certainly
have to upgrade your food quality "even more" if you had the OSF title!

Dear Fredcat - Did I read correctly? Do you mean you're NOT the "Official
State Feline"? How on EARTH did this oversite happen? It MUST be an oversite,
don't you think? How could they have a state d*g and not have a state feline -
or course, with you being said feline.
There must be someone we can write to fix this grievous error. The Mayor?
Govenor? PRESIDENT?? I'm perplexed and in shock.
Until we get this fixed, remember that you're the Number One, Official Cat in
my eyes.
Until then, I remain as always

The cats I live with are very pleased that you have
provided this guestbook. They wish it known that they support you whole
heartedly in your quest to become The Official State Feline of North
Carolina. They also wish you to know that they stand ready to write to
any state officer you may designate, including The Honorable Governor
Easley, in support of your petition to attain the designation you so
richly deserve. On their behalf, I remain, David Ridgeway David Ridgeway, Clayton, NC,

It's me - your friend Jasmine. Just checking in to send some fur kisses and
good wishes your way for a wonderful 2005!
I hope that this finds you doing well. I am still as spoiled as ever but very
much loved (I have my humans wrapped around my tail . . .)
Sending kisses and hugs to you,

Fredcat, darling, you may have our Cathie and poor old Mr. B confuzled about your wild behavior the other night, but I am wise to you. You and my Weezer had it all planned, didn't you? She exhibited the same wild, unexplained behavior that evening, too! First skating on the icy deck, then racing around the walls outside my bedroom before settling in for a snooze as if nothing had happened! Susan L, Carrboro, NC, Jan 24 2005

Freddy dearest, bringing a new cat into your residence is certainly a big issue. But there are many plus sides to it. You would have the start of a retinue, like all the best stars. You would have a gofer and you would be able to teach a disciple of proper cat behaviour. And you would succeed in making Mr B's life even more of a trial!!!!
However, cat toys are good too. I am considering the purchase of a kitty scratch tower for my brood. What do you think? Margaret, Liverpool, England Jan 23 2005

Dear Fredcat,
Love your picture today, 1/20. You look very "in control" with your right leg
resting on that big stack of papers. The "I'm the boss look!" Well I guess
you are the boss around there. :o) Keep on writing!

Hip Hip HOORAY for Fredcat the FAMOUS FURRY FELINE FRIEND,
My praise for you shall never end, and for Cathie (now let me see),
and there's the NASTY Mr B, Who I'm told is not to be praised,
(as it only encourages him).
Just a little verse again in praise of Fredcat. Of course Mr B is not to be praised -ever (as this can be very dangerous).
Well must get on, Bye now Love and Peace Jimmydefish XXX Jimmydefish, Stockport, England, Jan 20 2005

Dear Fred Thank you for including a link to those fabulous kittens. I am pleased you
allowed them on your site, as of course, they are not a patch on you. I am
happy you recognise that aspiring adult cats in training have a lot to learn
and by encouraging them you are fulfilling a valuable mentorship role.
Well done you Fred. Margaret, Liverpool, England Jan 18 2005

Dear Fredcat - I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am that you now have a guest book. You really ARE the smart one, aren't you. You were also ever so smart to pick Cathie and The Grumpy Mr. B. when they were looking for a cat to live with. Better friends could not be found!!
I enjoy reading about your exploits and your many 'tales'. Keep up the good work, and thank you for letting us have this glimpse into your busy and oh-so famous life. I'm allergic to cats (and what a horrible crime that is), so being able to read about your life is almost like living with a cat myself and and all the joy that can bring.
Take good care of you AND your wonderful family.
With love and respect,
Your devoted fan - Tracy
p.s. Could you at least just give the catnip a try.....:) Tracy, Calgary, AB, Canada Jan 13 2005

Hi Fred!
I hope you are keeping your humans in check and make sure the cheques they have
to write for the tax man aren't too big. After all, they need all the cash they
have to keep you in the manner you have become accustomed to.
Best loves Margaret, Liverpool, England Jan 13 2005

Hi Fredcat the Famous. I must admit that I do enjoy your tales. The grumpy one must be fun to deal with. However, your best human friend Cathie sounds like nothing but sunshine.
I don't have any cats or cat stories that I can share. But if you ever want an earful about chickens then I'm your woman.
Keep up the great "tails" :) Your friend, Shauna! Shauna, Jan 12 2005

Oh Fredcat your so Wonderful
So cuddly and so sweet,
My favourite of feline friends,
You make my life complete.
Because I live in a single flat,
I'm not allowed to keep a d*g or cat,
It is a flamin' shame,
And I am not to blame. James W. Fisher (aka jimmydefish), Stockport England Jan 11 2005
